I think your post is humerous. It really does seem ridiculous... if this is supposed to be a country of "freedom" why can't we listen to an IPOD while walking on our own free time?? Unbelievable. I do see a little bit of how it could be dangerous but I think this fine is quite over the top. What are they going to ban next?? This concept just seems outrageous. It was a good idea to blog about this because it definitely is somehting that will cause controversy.

What next--$100 fine if you are walking across the street and drinking a coffee? I can understanding driving with a cellphone to a point, and they make those hands-free devices for those people who are not able to do two things at once, but come on while your walking across the street. Now what happens if someone is running across the street with their IPod, is that still considered a fine or do they bump it up to $200. Wouldn't you love getting fined for keeping in shape? As long as people are being smart and safe then I don't see the point in making some ridiculous fine for this reason. The world has bigger problems then cellphones, IPods, and the street!

This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard in a long time! "Look both ways before crossing the street" Dose this sound familiar? My mom must have told me a thousand times. I wonder how many of the people killed while talking on the cell phone of listening to their I-Pods were crossing at a crosswalk when the light was red. Probably not many. If they did have the right of way, then their death would be the driver’s fault. There is an inherent risk in waking across the street. You might get hit.

Maybe we can treat I-pods like cigarettes...
A warning label, yes, that’s the answer. It will read:

"If you want to die, Listen to your music and cross the street"

This could be the start to a new age, a safer society through the use of warning labels. Or, people could just think.
